Solo Travel

Solo travel has been part of my life since I was 12. I had to travel to Melbourne by myself to the boarding school I was studying at the time. The real solo travel I did was to Zurich when I was 15 while I was studying in Switzerland. During one of the school holidays, I stayed with a host family and I was touring the city on my own. The second time was to Vienna when I was 16, also during a short break. Some people have told me that they find solo travel lonely and unsafe. But there are certain cities that one can try as a “beginner,” and are not necessarily unsafe. As someone who puts safety before anything, I can understand why people feel that way. If I don’t feel secure when traveling as a solo female traveler, it can be stressful. On the other hand, once you find a suitable country/city to go, solo travel can be extremely inspiring and rejuvenating. I like to use solo travel as a way to get in touch with my mind and soul. It’s less about ticking off a list of places to see, it’s more about not doing anything or doing things that detach you from this world, routine, comfort zone, and seeing the world from a different angle.

Choosing a destination

These are the destinations that I find suitable for solo travel.

SE Asia: Bali, Siem Reap, Koh Samui, Ho Chi Minh City

East Asia: Osaka, Shanghai

U.S. & Europe: New York, Paris, Vienna, London, Lisbon, Switzerland

 Why Solo Travel?

Life is like a novel, every event and sequence serves its own purpose. In this fast-paced world we live in today, it’s easy to lose ourselves. When we work hard to become successful and live up to today’s standards, we tend to neglect our mind and senses. There’s no question that all lives will end at one point, but are we able to keep that in mind when making decisions? Is it possible to live a life with less or no regrets? I like how solo travel can give us space to discover or rediscover our senses.  We’re giving ourselves a chance to experience without baggage.

Future Plans

To be honest, I haven’t done a full-blown solo travel for years now. I guess this is the reason why I’m inspired to write about it. Perhaps, in some way it’s a reminder telling me that it’s about time to do one soon. It’d be hard for me to travel solo this year as I have big travel plans with my family and a big commitment in autumn. Nevertheless, I have a couple of destinations in mind, hopefully I will be able to do one next year.

Hello!

I saw your website and thought I should say hello.

My name is Andrew Tran and I run IVY Social Media, a small versatile team based in NYC that specializes not in growing followers, but converting your inevitable growth into real clients and customers – this means zero fake/paid followers or engagement.

We use management and in-house software to target accounts who have already shown interest in your niche (in this case nutrition and wellness), and interact with them (how else would they find you).

We also use whitehat (hashtag targeting, engagement groups, etc) and greyhat (automation) methods of growth. Blackhat is done at your discretion/permission.

I work one-on-one with all my clients. I’d like to offer a free 30-min consultation for you guys at justalifesummary.com (can be done over the phone or in-person), to discuss your social media, how it can improve, basic strategies for growth, and some basic strategies for customer conversion.

You can view our portfolio and book the consultation at our site: https://www.ivy.social/

Kind regards,
Andrew Tran
